Hi, I’m Pasi Salenius — the developer behind Maptrails and the founder of Fresh Bits.
I’m an iOS engineer who loves building applications with carefully constructed user interfaces and a touch of personal flair. I built Maptrails because I wanted a fast, native map app for planning hikes and exploring open topographic data — one that works the same way on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, and that I can extend with any maps of my own.
I’ve been writing Swift since its earliest public releases, and I build server-side APIs in Go (this very site runs on Hugo, which is Go-based too). Above all, I love learning how to craft the best possible apps alongside teams of passionate professionals.
